Dean's Journey
Dean has been active his whole life. His focus on fitness began with high school sports and expanded to running, weight training, rock climbing, yoga, triathlons, hiking, Peloton bicycle, Spartan Races and Tough Mudders. Yet after years of effort and dedication, this fell apart quickly when Dean hit his late 50s. He found himself 30 pounds heavier after COVID, the discovery of biscuits and gravy, and a hamstring injury. Dean’s clothes didn’t fit, and he felt terrible. After hitting "rock bottom" or more accurately, "rock top," Dean knew he needed to rededicate himself to his health and fitness goals and to focus on cross training and proper nutrition. Dean lost the 30 pounds within 18 months and felt so much better about turning 60; his body fat percentage was in the teens, lower than it was in his 20s.

Career
Dean graduated from George Washington University with a B.S degree in Biology. Upon graduation, he worked as a fitness trainer. He then taught in the public school system before embarking on an almost 30 year career in the pharmaceutical industry. Along with his life coach certification, he has been a certified RYT 200 yoga instructor for nearly 20 years. He enjoys being in nature, touring historical sites and traveling.
